A Standardized 10-Tier Classification for Scientific Evidence
To prevent ambiguity and misleading claims, every substantive statement on FoundationsAudit.org is assigned one of 10 standardized status tags. In adherence to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, status is never conveyed by color alone.
Claim Boundary & Exclusions Audit
What Is Claimed (Within Scope)
- •Admission [ADM]: Stipulated factual baseline; acknowledged as an input rather than derived.
- •Definition [DEF]: Formal mathematical convention, boundary condition, or metric.
- •Exact Result [EXA]: Mathematically proved theorem with declared hypotheses and proof sketch.
- •Restricted Result [RES]: Mathematically proved within declared finite, task-relative, or access-limited scope.
- •Countermodel [CNT]: Explicit construction demonstrating nonuniqueness, boundary failure, or no-go condition.
- •Empirical Result [EMP]: Validated against physical experimental data from laboratory hardware (None currently for ETP).
- •Conjecture [CNJ]: Mathematically formulated hypothesis without complete proof.
- •Open Question [OPN]: Recognized foundational problem lacking certified closure.
- •Internal Diagnostic [INT]: Tooling or test suite for repository integrity (e.g. PUB-03).
- •Historical [HIS]: Predecessor manuscript, genealogy record, or ledger artifact preserved unchanged.
What Is NOT Claimed (Prohibited Inferences)
- •Status ratings do not represent subjective peer-review sentiment; they reflect objective evidence ceilings.
Technical Exposition & Formulation
The 10-tier taxonomy operationalizes Content Governance Item 4 and Design System Sec. 2. Color tokens (Verified Green, Restricted Amber, Open Violet, Countermodel Red, Slate, Blue) are always paired with distinct icons and semantic text labels.
Assumptions & Input Data
- Classification is task-relative and scope-specific.
- A supporting paper may control a bounded theorem family without controlling global theory architecture.
